Shaligram stone mala is a black stone brought back from the Gandaki River in Nepal. This is the most worshiped stone by Vishnu Bhakts. The Shaligrams are thought to have been formed millions of years ago when the Himalayas were still the ocean floor. According to Vishnu Puran, it is one of the rarest Shaligrams.
