Green Tara is shown sitting with one leg on the ground, ready to defend us. White Tara Statue, on the other hand, is shown sitting in the more peaceful diamond lotus position, with both legs folded under her and her feet facing up.

White Tara has 7 eyes. One is in the middle of her forehead, and one is on each hand and foot. This shows that she is always watching out for the suffering of others. Her left hand is in the mudra for protection, and her right hand is in the mudra for granting wishes. Most of the time, she holds a stem of the Utpala lotus flower with three blooms in her left hand. One flower is shown as a seed, another as getting ready to bloom, and the third as fully open. These are pictures of Buddhas from the past, present, and future.
