This Green Tara Thangka describes the goddess of compassion. It is believed to be that Green Tara came into existence from a tear of Avalokiteshvara. She is the female protector of navigation, earthly and spiritual travel.

Whenever you see a Green Tara, she is shown seated on a lotus throne with a right leg hanging down, wore the ornaments of Bodhisattva and hold the Utpala (Closed Lotus) are said to symbolize compassion of the deity who labors both day and night to relieve suffering.

Description

Green Tara, also known as Shyamatara in Sanskrit and Sgrol-Ljang in the Tibetan Language. She is believed to be the incarnation of the Nepali princess of the first Buddhist king of Tibet, Srong-brtsan-sgam-po.

She represents a female Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism, and as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism.

How do we Pack the Thangka?

We wrap the Thangka in handmade Nepali Lokta paper for protection of painting and later packed inside the non-bendable PVC pipe for shipping.

We also offer Silk Brocade framing for above Thangka. For that, you need to request us and paid separately.
