Manjushri Statue is a Bodhisattva who represents wisdom, and so does his mantra. He has a sword in his right hand, which shows that he can cut through lies. He holds the Perfection of Wisdom teaching, or Prajnaparamita, in his left hand, close to his heart. The book is on the stem of a lotus flower.
Manjushri is often shown with his right hand holding a two-sided, flaming sword and his left hand holding a lotus flower on which the Prajnaparamita (Great Wisdom) Sutra rests. He is seen on a lion a lot. The lotus flower on the Prajnaparamita Sutra shows that wisdom is as pure as a lotus. The sword is a symbol of how sharp wisdom is and how it can cut through illusion. People call the lion “the king of a hundred animals,” which stands for the stern majesty of knowledge.
