Vajrasattva Statue is a Bodhisattva who represents the purity of the beginning. By thinking about him, we can get rid of greed, anger, and delusion. At his heart, he holds a vajra thunderbolt, which is a symbol of his upaya, or his ability to free beings through compassion. He has a bell around his waist that stands for wisdom.
The word “vajra” can mean either “thunderbolt” or “diamond.” The thunderbolt was the strongest force, and the diamond was the strongest thing that could be made. The vajra he is holding is almost the same as some of the stylized thunderbolts that Zeus is shown holding in statues from ancient Greece. “Sattva” means “being.”
